Car Rental

Perfect journey to your destination

For a US road trip or for more flexibility in Las Vegas and the surrounding area, renting a car is the common choice.

The Las Vegas pilot recommends: The longer the trip, the bigger the car. Because: The bigger, the more comfortable.
If you only need a car for Las Vegas and the surrounding area, we recommend a smaller alternative, as the traffic in the desert city gets busy.
The procedure is simple and cars available to any time of the day. "Car Rentals" are signposted at the airport as well as inside the hotels.

We clearly recommend booking the rental car before departure. This way, you usually get better conditions online than when booking spontaneously after the arriving at the counter. Furthermore, it is possible to reserve the desired brand and size and not to run the risk that the selected category will no longer be available on the day of arrival.
At the counter of the Car Rental Station, where you have to present the reservation documents, the ID card plus the driver's license and a credit card, you are usually offered upgrades to a larger vehicle.

At most airports, after registering and handing in your personal details, you choose from several vehicles of your booked category on the so-called Choice-Line for the upcoming trip.
If the vehicle is expected to be too small, you can also go back to the counter after the previous booking process and add an upgrade to a larger class.

ALAMO

OUR BEST CHOICE

The Las Vegas Pilot and our customers made the best experiences with the car rental company Alamo. They have a huge fleet of all brands and sizes, the cars are always almost new and well maintained and the picking up is reasonably quick and easy.
There are also other international suppliers such as Sixt and Hertz to choose from.

Important information and tips for you:

1. Reservation confirmation, a valid credit card, as well as an international driver's license and passport or ID must be presented at the time of collection of the car.

2. Observe the Insurances.
Here an overview of possible and necessary insurances.

3. Booking of a GPS is not necessary as these are usually very expensive. Install a GPS App on your mobile phone (e.g. HereWeGo), they even have maps etc. downloaded beforehand, so that the App on the phone can also be used offline, or buy a GPS at the next Walmart.
These often cost less than 100 dollars and can be sold on ebay, etc. on return.

4. Check the vehicle for possible damages before starting and report it. Upon return, please check the return log.

5. Important for return: Pay attention to the fuel options, you will be offered two options upon conclusion of the contract.
1.You return the rental car fully refuelled.
2.You will complete the tank replenishment by the rental stationbeforehand, at a fixed price.
We recommend fuel option 1.!
The prices of gallons at a gas station tend to be cheaper than those of the car rental companies.

Make sure your fuel upon return is the same level the fuel was at when you picked up the car, or you'll be charged for the difference. As long as you maintain the fuel level in the tank, this is the most cost-effective option. You pay for the fuel you use, and nothing more.
